What "copy shop as a service" really means

The term sounds like marketing jargon, but it actually comes from a very concrete request our clients make: "I have a PDF to sign and send back by tonight, I don't have a printer at home, I can drop by the shop tomorrow morning but the deadline is today. Can you do it for me?"

The answer has always been yes. A classic copy shop only handles the last step of the chain: the physical print. A copy shop as a service covers the whole task: downloading the file from the public-administration portal, converting formats, printing, signing in the shop, scanning, sending it digitally to the recipient. The customer is only involved at the start (to tell us what's needed) and at the end (to receive the digitised file or the physical document by shipping). Everything in between is on us.

The difference from an "ordinary copy shop" is structural: we act as the customer's operating arm, not as paper-pushers. And that's exactly what you need when you work remotely, live outside Rome but have Italian paperwork to handle, or simply don't have time to walk into the shop for every small bureaucratic errand.

How often do you get a PDF from the public administration or another body that needs to be signed by hand and sent back? We take care of it: we print it, you fill it in on the spot, we scan it in high resolution and send you the finished file. (Typical time: 10-20 minutes)

Get a file on a USB stick or smartphone and print it without a PC

No PC, and the file is only on your phone or USB stick? Come with your smartphone or USB: we open it right on our terminals, check the format and settings, and print it straight away. (Typical time: 5-15 minutes)

Download a document from a public-administration website, sign it by hand and digitise it

For complex bureaucratic tasks (Italian Revenue Agency, INPS, Land Registry, City of Rome): you give us your details, we download the form from the official portal, you print it, sign it here in the shop, and we send it back to you digitised. (Typical time: 15-30 minutes)

Create a multi-page PDF from several photos

You've been asked for a single PDF but you only have dozens of photos scattered across your phone? Send them to us via WhatsApp, we sort them, optimise them for printing and produce a single high-resolution PDF. (Typical time: 15-30 minutes)

Scan and send signed documents or contracts

Do you have contracts, letters or deeds signed by hand that you need to send by email? Professional scanning at 600 dpi, PDF/A archiving on request, and direct delivery to the recipient you specify. (Typical time: 10-20 minutes)

Print and bind urgent materials for exams or presentations

You have an exam, a presentation or an interview tomorrow? Send the file at any time (even in the evening) and pick it up in the morning already spiral- or thermal-bound. Real in-shop times: 5 minutes for spiral and thermal binding. (Typical time: 5-30 minutes)

Print urgent promotional materials without coming to the shop

Frequently asked questions

What do you mean by 'copy shop as a service'?

The term was coined years ago to describe printing services that don't require the customer to physically bring in a document or a ready-made file. You send the file (or tell us what you need) and we handle all the rest: downloading from public-administration portals, format conversions, scanning signed documents, creating multi-page PDFs, printing, binding, pickup/shipping. A classic copy shop only does the last step (printing). A copy shop as a service covers the whole chain, even when you can't physically come to the shop.

How much does the extra service cost?

The 'cloud' services (file handling, scanning, digital delivery, conversions) carry a small surcharge on top of the printing alone: typically € 2-10 per task depending on complexity. Physical printing costs the same as in the shop, with no surcharge. For recurring services (e.g. a company sending 50 documents a month) we set up flat monthly agreements at a reduced rate.

How secure is the transmission of my data?

We handle PDF files of administrative forms, contracts and notarial deeds: confidentiality is a basic responsibility of ours. Files received by email stay on our internal servers and are deleted 60 days after the service is completed (unless a different archiving arrangement is agreed). For particularly sensitive documents we use encrypted channels (certified PEC email, Drive links with an expiry date). If you prefer, you can come to the shop after sending the file and print it in person.

Does it work outside opening hours too?

Files can be sent 24/7 by email, WhatsApp or cloud link: we pick them up at the first available time (Mon–Fri 9:00–19:00, closed Saturday and Sunday). For urgent deliveries falling on a Saturday evening or Sunday, contact us by email by Friday afternoon: we'll arrange to have them ready by Monday morning at 9, so you don't have to wait.

Do you ship, or do I have to come and pick up?

Both options. Pickup at our premises in Via di Porta Castello 29 in Rome Prati (Mon–Fri 9:00–19:00): no extra cost, even same-day for reasonable orders. Tracked shipping with couriers (BRT, GLS, SDA) throughout Italy: 24-48h for major cities, 2-4 days for more outlying areas. Shipping cost is calculated on the actual weight and the postal code, and is always shown in the quote.
