Quasar thesis cover colors

The right color at your defense: not a generic shade but the exact tone — your university's brand or your faculty's tradition — with high-definition gold or silver foil.

Main color

Quasar indigo

#312783 — Indigo is the brand color of the Quasar Institute, an advanced design school with a contemporary aesthetic. Indigo or black with silver or white lettering works well for portfolios and final projects. That said, Quasar students work across 7 areas (Interior, Product, Yacht, Habitat, Game Art, Communication, UX/UI) and often pick more expressive colors for theses with a strong visual identity of their own.

Quasar thesis printing: what to know

For over 30 years, the Quasar Institute for Advanced Design has been a school-workshop in the heart of Rome. Founded in 1987 by Benedetto Todaro and Silvia Benedetti De Cousandier, it now trains designers across 7 areas of specialization, from Product Design Made in Italy and Yacht Design to UX/UI and Game Art. It is recognized by the MIUR to award first-level Academic Diplomas equivalent to a bachelor's degree.

Quasar is at Via Crescenzio 17/A. GUUG is at Via di Porta Castello 29. Same postcode 00193, same Prati district: 300 meters as the crow flies, a 5-minute walk. No design school in Rome is closer to us than Quasar — and no copy shop in Rome is closer to Quasar than GUUG. We print around 120 Quasar portfolios and theses a year, and the "drop by at lunch, pick up in the afternoon" routine gets more popular all the time.

On this page you'll find GUUG's services designed for Quasar students (technical boards, renders, custom formats, fine art for portfolios), the precise distances from the Via Crescenzio building, and answers to the typical questions of students from Quasar's seven bachelor-level programs.

The Quasar Institute has a single location at Via Crescenzio 17/A (00193 Roma, Prati district), opened in 2016. It's an elegant, minimal industrial-style building with a library, the Quasar Lab digital fabrication workshop, a photo studio, a terrace, classrooms and labs. From GUUG it's 300 meters as the crow flies — a walk past Castel Sant'Angelo — less than 5 minutes on foot. The nearest metro is Lepanto on line A, but if you're coming from Quasar the fastest way to reach the shop is simply to walk.

Frequently asked questions

Is it true that Quasar and GUUG are in the same neighborhood?
Yes. The Quasar Institute is at Via Crescenzio 17/A (00193 Roma). GUUG is at Via di Porta Castello 29 (00193 Roma). Same postcode, Prati district, 300 meters as the crow flies. It's a 5-minute walk across Piazza del Risorgimento and on toward Castel Sant'Angelo. You're basically in the shop before Google Maps finishes loading.
I study Yacht Design and have 30 A2 technical boards — what do you recommend?
For Yacht Design theses we have the right workflow: large-format plotter for A2/A1/B0, heavyweight matte or glossy paper for renders, rigid folders for transport. Boards are numbered, organized by section (floor plan, elevation, section, detail) and packed so they reach your defense without a single crease. For an additional photography portfolio we do fine art printing separately.
UX/UI calls for interactive mockups: do you print those too?
Yes, for Interaction Design UX/UI theses we can print wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes on glossy or matte paper, in custom formats (A3, A2, scaled 16:9 screen formats). UX/UI theses often come with a separate "User Research" booklet bound on its own: saddle-stitch or spiral binding, ready in 5 minutes.
Quasar has its own library — why do I need a hard cover?
Because the Quasar final portfolio is your first career tool: you use one copy at job interviews, one goes to the examination board, one to the school. For the copies you'll carry with you, the best binding is a minimal hard cover — black, anthracite or Quasar indigo — silver lettering, in a custom format matching the inner pages. Your portfolio is instantly recognizable.
How much does the Quasar final portfolio cost?
It depends on the number of pages, the format (A4, A3, square, landscape), the type of binding (hard cover, saddle stitch, spiral) and the finish (fine art or standard printing). For an instant quote use the configurator at shop.guug.it/tesi, or just drop by the shop: in 5 minutes we look at your files and give you an exact quote.
How much does it cost to print a thesis?
Thermal binding starts at € 8, the hardcover from € 25; printing is € 0.05 per side in black and white and € 0.40 in colour. The exact price depends on pages, copies and finishing — you can calculate it with our configurator.
