Scientific poster formats and prices
The size almost every conference accepts is A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm), portrait or landscape at the same price; A1 is the more compact alternative and A2 works for short sessions and corridor posters. If the board gave you a size of its own, we print that too. Below are the three paper weights on anti-glare matte coated paper; for other sizes and 200 gsm paper see the custom posters page.

Why researchers print their poster with us
We have worked for 20 years with PhD students, researchers and university groups in Rome. We know the tight deadlines of conferences and the needs of a scientific poster.
Half an hour on the machine
A poster takes about 30 minutes to print. If your PDF is ready and you come by the shop, you almost always take it away the same day: when the conference deadline is tomorrow, that is the difference between making it and not.
Anti-glare matte paper
Matte coated paper eliminates reflections under conference-hall spotlights: text, charts and tables stay readable up close and from afar.
A0 and A1 by the book
We print the standard formats accepted by conferences and any specific size required by the board, portrait or landscape.
A stone's throw from the universities
At Via di Porta Castello 29, 200 m from the Vatican and convenient for Rome's universities: drop by, collect, go. Posters are collection only: we don't ship them.
Free file check
Before printing we check dimensions, image resolution and embedded fonts: we let you know for free if something isn't right.
Ready to travel
We hand it over rolled, with no creases: if you have a drawing tube, use it. Or Forex mounting for a rigid, reusable panel.
How to prepare your scientific poster file
The simplest way is to start from PowerPoint (or Google Slides, Keynote, InDesign), setting the slide to the final poster size right away: for an A0 set 84.1 × 118.9 cm, for an A1 59.4 × 84.1 cm. Working at the real dimensions from the start avoids blurry text and wrong proportions in print.
For images, charts and microscope photos use a resolution of at least 150 dpi at the final size: at that scale the eye can't tell more and the file stays manageable. Embed the fonts (export to PDF with 'embed fonts') so titles and symbols don't change. Finally export to PDF: it's the format that best preserves layout and quality.
If in doubt, send the file to stampa@guug.it: we check dimensions, resolution and fonts for free before printing and tell you straight away whether the poster will come out sharp. If the conference gave you precise guidelines (dimensions, orientation, margins), attach them: we'll match their standard.
