Which paper to choose

The paper makes more of a difference than the size. Here are the 4 main families and when to use them. Not sure? Send us the file and we will advise you — in English, of course.

📸 Glossy photographic

Bright paper with excellent colour rendering and deep blacks. Ideal for photographs, vivid illustrations, movie-style posters. Not recommended for brightly lit spots: reflections can hinder readability.

📄 Matte coated

Matte finish with no glare, maximum readability for text and tables. The standard choice for business posters, conferences, internal communications. Easy to write on with a marker.

🎨 Modigliani Fedrigoni

Premium Italian paper with a hammered texture, ideal for art reproductions, artistic posters, collector prints. 200/260gsm weights for a substantial feel. For dedicated art prints see the Fine Art page in the related services.

🎯 Economy poster paper

Thinner, lower-cost paper, perfect for high-volume promotional posters, large flyers, temporary postings. Excellent visual quality, and the price per copy drops fast with quantity.

What sizes do you print posters in? +
We print all standard sizes: A3 (29.7×42 cm), A2 (42×59.4 cm), A1 (59.4×84.1 cm), A0 (84.1×118.9 cm). We also print custom sizes: tell us the exact dimensions you need and we will find the best paper format. The maximum plotter width is 1118 mm.
What papers do you offer? +
For posters we mainly use: glossy photographic paper (for vivid images), matte coated paper (for text and business graphics), hammered Modigliani Fedrigoni paper (for art prints and premium posters), and economy poster paper (for high-volume promotional runs). We will recommend the best paper for your use.
How much does it cost to print a poster? +
It depends on size, paper and number of copies. As a guide (90gsm paper): A3 from €5, A2 from €6, A1 from €11, A0 from €15; with the heavier 200gsm paper it goes up to €19 (A1) and €27 (A0). We offer discounts on larger runs. Send your file to stampa@guug.it for an exact quote within minutes.
How long does it take? +
For small runs (1-10 copies) turnaround is fast: drop off in the morning, pick up in the afternoon. For larger runs (20-100 copies) we usually need a full day. In a real rush — say, an event tomorrow — call us at +39 06 4424 0707 and we will do our best to fit you in.
Can I get them laminated or mounted on a rigid panel? +
Yes. Lamination protects against wear and is ideal for posters displayed outdoors or handled often. Mounting on rigid PVC panel (foam PVC) turns the poster into a stiff, lightweight board — perfect for trade shows, shop windows, indoor signage.
Do you print posters for events and exhibitions? +
Yes, we regularly work with art galleries, conferences, trade fairs, book launches, photo exhibitions and sporting events across central Rome.
