Which paper to choose
Paper makes more of a difference than size. Here are the 4 main families and when to use them. If you're not sure, send us the file and we'll advise you.
Glossy photo paper
Bright paper, excellent colour rendering, deep blacks. Ideal for photographs, vivid illustrations, movie posters. Not recommended for very bright locations: reflections can make reading uncomfortable.
Matte coated paper
Matte, glare-free finish, maximum legibility for text and tables. The standard choice for corporate posters, conferences, internal communications. Easy to write on with a marker.
Modigliani Fedrigoni
Premium Italian paper with a hammered texture, ideal for art reproductions, artistic posters, signature prints. 200/260g weights for a substantial feel. For dedicated art prints see the Fine Art page in related services.
Budget poster paper
Thinner and cheaper paper, perfect for large runs of promotional posters, big flyers, temporary displays. Great visual result at the lowest price.
What our customers print them for
The poster is a communication tool as old as printing itself, but it remains highly effective. Here are the most common uses we've seen for 20 years.
Exhibitions and events
Flyers for openings, photo exhibitions, cultural events, book launches.
Conferences and congresses
Scientific posters for medical, academic and scientific congresses. A0 format with charts and text, on matte paper or Forex. See the dedicated page: scientific posters for congresses.
Shop windows
Seasonal communications (sales, new collections, promotions), window graphics, holiday displays.
Offices and showrooms
Maps, floor plans, org charts, corporate communications, brand values printed on the wall.
Private events
Posters for weddings (programme, tableau de mariage), birthdays, graduations, themed parties. Printed on thick papers for eye-catching displays.
Decoration
Art prints, enlarged personal photographs, vintage maps, children's illustrations. On Modigliani Fedrigoni for durability and a painterly texture.
