Thicknesses and when to use them

Forex is the trade name for foamed PVC: rigid, extremely light, resistant to water and UV rays. It's used in place of wood or metal for panels, signs, signage, displays.

Forex 3 mm

Thin and light. For lightweight indoor panels, information totems, hanging signage, temporary displays, wall signs that don't need to be self-supporting.

Forex 5 mm

The most requested. A balance of rigidity and weight. For signs, display panels, exhibitions, trade fairs, floor-standing totems, permanent window communications.

Forex 10 mm

Maximum rigidity. For large panels that must stay flat, wind-resistant outdoor signs, permanent installations, signage that must last years outdoors.

What is Forex and why is it used?
Forex is the trade name for foamed PVC: a rigid plastic material, extremely light, resistant to water and UV rays. It's used in place of wood or metal for panels, signs, signage, displays. Advantage: it weighs very little (1/4 of wood), doesn't warp, and lasts years even outdoors.
Which thicknesses do you have?
We mainly work with 3, 5, 10 mm Forex. The 3 mm is ideal for lightweight indoor panels and signage, the 5 mm is the most requested format (an excellent balance of rigidity and weight), the 10 mm for large panels that must stay perfectly flat outdoors.
How much does a printed Forex panel cost?
As a guide, a 100x100 cm panel with direct UV printing starts at € 140 in 3 mm (€ 150 in 5 mm, € 180 in 10 mm). For different sizes or custom cuts the price scales proportionally. For giant panels or multiple orders we have more competitive per-square-metre prices.
Direct UV printing or applied vinyl?
For most jobs we do direct UV printing on the Forex: the ink cures instantly under UV light, ensuring durability and resistance. For special projects (very particular finishes) we apply adhesive printed vinyl.
Can it be cut to shape?
Yes. We have cutting plotters to cut the Forex to shape according to any form in the vector file. Great for 3D logos, themed cut-outs (cars, houses, character silhouettes), complex displays.
Does it hold up outdoors?
Yes, UV-printed Forex withstands sun, rain and frost for 5+ years with normal outdoor use. For signs heavily exposed to direct UV rays we recommend a laminated finish that further protects the print.
